Distillation greatly helps reduce the costs of purchasing new solvent and the costs of hazardous waste disposal.

  • Average payback period is 12 months, but in many cases much less.
  • The amount of waste disposed of as hazardous waste decreases on average by more than ten times (depending on the degree of solvent contamination).
  • The need to purchase new clean solvent decreases significantly. On average, about 85% of clean solvent can be distilled from contaminated solvent, which can be reused.
  • By owning a distillator, there is no need to keep hundreds of liters of flammable solvent residues emitting vapors in your production environment.

Frequently discussed topics:

  • The process of solvent distillation is possible because there is no chemical reaction between the solvent and paint when cleaning your painting equipment with solvent. This process is a physical one. For this reason, the solvent can be distilled countless times without losing its properties.
  • Our customers have given dedicated feedback that solvent distilled in their production has better cleaning properties than the solvent originally purchased. The reason is that the solvent is also produced by distillation. When distilling the solvent again (on your own), the production method used is repeated, resulting in additional "cleaning" of solvent.
  • The amount of waste to be disposed of as hazardous waste decreases by an average of more than ten times (depending on the degree of solvent contamination).
  • The need to purchase new clean solvent is significantly reduced. On average, about 85% of dirty solvent is distilled into clean solvent, which can be reused. Realistically, efficiency can be expected in the range of 80-90%.
  • Our customers have distilled approximately 95% of dirty solvent, although in some cases the purity of the cleaned solvent may be a maximum of 70%. The reason for this is the degree of contamination of the solvent, or the amount of paint within the solvent. In most cases, the solvent mixture is completely recovered from the used solvent, leaving behind only dry matter. The proportion of dry matter is higher when the solvent was originally heavily contaminated. When distilling clean solvent, almost 100% of the original solvent mass can be recovered.
  • If you own a distiller in your production, you can be confident in the quality of the solvent you use. When purchasing externally distilled solvent, there may be some uncertainty as to whether you will receive exactly the same solvent that was sent for distillation or a mixture.
  • For most distiller users (who paint with a paint line daily), the payback period for purchasing the device is less than 1 year. Among our customers, there are also several whose payback period has been 1-2 quarters.
  • By owning a distiller, you do not need to keep hundreds of liters of flammable solvent waste emitting vapors in your production environment.
